Everglades University Opens Enrollment for Marine Resources Management
Everglades
University (EU) is excited to announce they are now enrolling for their new
program, the Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Marine Resources
Management. EU’s new program offering aligns with its other green and
sustainable programs, including its Bachelor of Science Degrees with majors in
Alternative and Renewable Energy Management, Environmental Policy and
Management, and Land and Energy Management.
The
BS in Marine Resources Management provides the opportunity for students who
wish to apply specific knowledge of marine, coastal and wetlands areas to the
business of managing the natural resources found in these ecologies. Sensitive
to the growing need for both public and private entities to be environmentally
responsible, EU seeks to prepare its graduates with the knowledge and skills
that will help them successfully negotiate business, science and policy
concerns, and position them to drive ethical and sustainable decision-making.
The
growing need for trained professionals in these fields is rising at a faster
than average rate. The National Bureau of Labor Statistics (NBLS) anticipates
that employment opportunities for environmental scientists and specialists will
grow eight percent in the next 10 years as a result of “heightened public
interest in the hazards facing the environment” (www.bls.gov/ooh/life-physical-and-social-science/environmental-scientists-and-specialists.htm).
