Patricia Scott Awarded “Life Diplomate” by IMDHA
Patricia V. Scott, Ph.D., president of UP Hypnosis Institute, Palm
Harbor, was awarded “Life Diplomate” by the International Medical & Dental
Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA), at the annual HypnoExpo, on May 20, in
Orlando. The award is in recognition of her 31 years of dedication and
contributions to medical hypnotherapy, and for creating the first Medical
Hypnotherapy Specialty Certification training approved by the IMDHA—the largest
organization of its kind globally.
Scott has been in private practice as a certified clinical
and medical hypnotherapist since1992, and is a certified master trainer for the
International Association of Counselors & Therapists (IACT) and certified instructor
for the International Federation of Hypnosis, with UPHI an approved IMDHA
school.
Scott has partnered with Dr. Eric Rosen, a licensed psychologist
in Palm Harbor, expanding the scope of medical training to include segments on DSM-5
and trauma-informed hypnosis. The duo are working on a book based on the
current trend of collaboration between licensed healthcare providers and
certified hypnotherapists, with hypnotherapy being among the most preferred
complementary referral sources for these professionals.
Medical Hypnotherapy Specialty Certification begins July 22;
Hypnosis Certification begins September 9.
