Back in the early 1970’s, a group of well-respected hypnotherapists decided to protect the practice of hypnosis by engaging in legal and legislative efforts on a federal level. These early pioneers worked with the United States Department of Labor to create the occupational title of “Hypnotherapist” as it appeared in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
